Work has started on the installation of solar PV panels on the first two properties in Chale. The installation of solar panels on up to 65 other properties will be completed over the next couple of months.
Paul Cave, one of the trainees who attended the BPEC Renewable Energy Awareness course over the past two days took the opportunity to ask about the type of PV being installed – the installers confirmed that the panels were made of polycrystalline silicon cells.
A recent report on the Energy Saving Trust website referred to some research carried out by accountancy firm PwC which suggests that use of solar PV could grow five-fold over the course of the year.
